About Ichron

Ichron Limited was established in the UK in February 1995 to occupy a niche market in the field of integrated geoscience consultancy. The company remit was to offer a range of services in the connected areas of stratigraphic correlation, depositional modelling and reservoir quality evaluation. To undertake this task we recruited both experienced geoscientists and highly motivated postgraduates starting out in the industry.

Our innovative approach to problem solving found instant favour with the oil and gas sector, such that over the years Ichron has grown significantly, both in terms of staff numbers and the range of consulting services offered.

We firmly believe that in the search for hydrocarbons one of the key challenges is recognising what is important in large, often disparate datasets. It is a challenge we are happy to accept.

Today Ichron Limited specialises in determining stratigraphic complexity at all scales through the acquisition, integration and interpretation of high quality subsurface datasets. This ranges from broad, 2D seismic-scale resolution on the one hand, to detailed correlations in support of 3D reservoir models on the other. We also specialise in delivering outcrop analogue datasets for reservoir modelling purposes, and offer renowned field-based training courses focusing on a range of depositional systems and play types.

Our highly experienced team of geoscientists includes reservoir geologists, biostratigraphers and chemostratigraphers, all with full technical support. Since we are keen to see the results of our labours tested at well-site, we maintain a fully resourced operation for conducting near ‘real-time’ biostratigraphic and chemostratigraphic analysis, both onshore and offshore.
