The aim of the South Halten Terrace and Møre Basin Stratigraphic Database is to provide a dataset that enhances the stratigraphic understanding of the area and draws upon both the Haltenbanken study completed in 2010 and the Møre and Vøring Stratigraphic Database completed in 2009.
The upgrade study includes wells from the, Halten Terrace, Froya High and Møre Basin. These structural elements have played an important role in the distribution and preservation of the Tertiary, Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoir sands and this will be presented within the study.
The 2012 database comprises a 54 well dataset covering the full stratigraphic section from Tertiary – Triassic. The study utilises the Ichron sequences which are calibrated with the Mid Norway lithostratigraphic nomenclature and also incorporates the Norlex terminology for the Cretaceous sands.
