Phase 1 Faroe – Shetland Stratigraphic Database (Tertiary)

The Phase 1 Faroe – Shetland Stratigraphic Database represents a continuation of the Ichron stratigraphic datasets first developed in the Foinaven Sub-basin.

A total of 38 wells including some of the key stratigraphic reference wells from the Faroe – Shetland Basin have been subjected to biostratigraphic re-appraisal with a particular focus on the Tertiary interval. The Ichron T-sequences are calibrated with the UKOOA/BGS lithostratigraphic nomenclature and provide a robust and reliable stratigraphic framework within which reservoir sections are correlated and confident seismic well ties are presented.

The Phase 1 Faroe – Shetland Database highlights the stratigraphic complexity of the Tertiary succession within this part of the UKCS Atlantic Margin and the stratigraphic framework has been applied to the majority of the recent discoveries in the area on a proprietary basis.
